76ers-EmbiidThe Philadelphia 76ers have agreed to a five-year, $148 million max rookie contract extension for fourth-year center Joel Embiid, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.

According to Wojnarowski, if Embiid hits the max criteria over the course of the deal, it could be worth as much as $178 million.

According to Wojnarowski, the deal contains some “salary cap protection” for the 76ers if Embiid suffers a long-term injury, though it’s unclear what the guarantees and non-guarantees are at this point.
